Nope, you've got it. We don't hate men. This is kind of a repeat, because I ran across something relevant that fleshes this out more.

Can I add that we don't hate masculinity, per se, either?

We hate the caricature of true masculinity that is being pushed and promoted; conning men into this wacked out ideology that leads you all to be harmful to us women. We're also not too thrilled watching you all self destruct either. You're our fathers, our uncle's, our grandpa's, our brothers, our cousins, our friends, our colleagues, our neighbors. You're half the population. Why would we want to see you come to harm?

We do wish more of you felt the same way about us and blasted all the rabbit holes of misogyny out of existence.

Interestingly enough, most of us hate the caricature of femininity that is being shoved down our throats all the time too. That's right. Femininity. Or rather, "femininity" —it's currently being marketed as "divine femininity" I don't think many men see this, which is surprising because the resistance is not what you would call low key. We hate it. We absolutely fucking hate it.

I read an article recently that mentioned a gender study that found that most of us humans do not have a male brain or a female brain as has been described and then proscribed to be "our lane" based on our sex at birth. Half of us have an androgynous brain, meaning we all house all masculine AND feminine traits because they're human traits. Makes sense, it's the most adaptable representation. One fourth of people skew on a sliding scale from that androgenous mean toward feminine traits and one fourth toward masculine.

Yet our socialization keeps pushing us toward those extreme poles that only a very small minority are actually comfortable with. For everyone else, it's maladaptive. It can't not be.

No wonder we're all so fucked up.

And it's what feminists have been saying all along. All the way. From Sojourner Truth and even before, but we have her words. Even before knowing about chromosomes, the kernel of the idea was there in talking about womanhood. It's what we've been saying. Gender tropes/stereotypes are a crock of shit that have been and are continuing to be used to control and subjugate people. They're unnatural. They're maladaptive. We're better than this and ALL of us deserve better than to be puppets being jerked around by a few people on top.

And those tropes have become so extreme, that men and women feel compelled to set aside, to override their natural maleness and natural femaleness to become caricatures of humanity. To play act masculinity and femininity. It's fucking sick and twisted, so yes—of course...we fucking hate it. Fiery passion. A thousand suns. Fucking hate it.
