Nope. Words mean what they mean.

If only there were some sort of compendium where we could put all the words beside their commonly known meanings along with usage examples and how to pronounce them. Maybe even where they came from and how they've evolved.

Wouldn't that be neat? Then we wouldn't constantly be bombarded with the nonsense notion that words come from some sort of pot luck...where folks can just pull them out of their ass, all willy nilly, and it means whatever they want it to mean.....

Rather than the more obvious conclusion that said persons simply don't have a firm handle on the meaning like everyone else does.

Has anyone seen Occam? I'd like to lodge a formal complaint.
