No. Several people seem to be getting hung up on that in one way or another, but I clearly said, once a child is born, both parents get sterilized, male or female. Also, an embryo is not an egg or an ovum. An embryo is an egg already fertilized by a sperm. Embyros are already regularly frozen as part of the in vitro process. Fertilization occurs outside the body and then the fertilized embryo is implanted in the woman. The extras are frozen for later use in case the implantation does not take.

And yes, there would be resistance, as there should be. This is a thought exercise, not something that would or could ever really happen. It would be so much better if human beings would choose to limit their own growth, collectively. But we won't.

The point was that the Thanos character isn't an ultimate villain because he made a terrible choice that needed to be made and no one was stepping up to do so. He chose future health of the universe over the immediate gratification of not having to sacrifice so there would be a future.
