No one's giggling. Who says she blamed him? Sounds to me like she took responsibility and he didn't. He said himself he was relieved she turned down his half hearted proposal.
Maybe her family helped and maybe they didn't. We don't know that either.
You're just biased and are incapable of or refuse to see her position with an ounce of sympathy.
Considering how the author said the parents behaved and his own lackluster response, it sounds to me like she was the only adult in the room. So yeah, I applaud her stepping up and making it, I'm sorry she had to, and I'm grateful she was able to not have her life derailed over a clump of cells.
And that right there is the impass between us. You will always see that zygote as a living bresthint human being and you will insist that life be placed above everyone else's, especially hers. But you will never advocate for that life to be supported. You want that life to be a punishment and a burden.
To me, it's not a person I til it can survive on its own outside the womb. Until then, her life takes primacy. If people don't like it, then they need to step up collectively and stop insisting women be punished for their biology or WEAR A DAMN CONDOM.
