No one is saying that. And no one is talking about free handouts.

People want responsible, equitable governance. People want to not be fleeced. We pay taxes for certain things. People are angry because they’re not getting what they’re paying for. And they’re suffering a lessening quality of life because if it, including a loss of that vibrant private sector you’re taking about.

That private sector is built on the bones of infrastructure that we collectively pay for so we can be prosperous and build a life for ourselves and our families. But now that all important skeletal structure the private sector rests on has osteoporosis. Less bad government will not treat the condition. Neither will more bad government or no government.

If you want strong bones, you have to build them. You need appropriate vitamins and minerals. You need exercise. You need protein and vegetables. YOU NEED TO NOT STARVE THEM OF NUTRIENTS.

If you want a healthy private sector, you need roads and bridges to conduct business through, you need education and health for a vibrant work force, you need communication pathways that you can access, you need a regulated means of commerce in order to conduct transactions, etc. These are not things the average business in the private sector can provide by themselves and be successful or make a profit.

We can collectively contribute though. That’s what our taxes are for. So if we’re paying for strong bones, why are we suffering from osteoporosis of society and the private sector?
