If you don't like the D&D analogy, go with party.
You wouldnt invite someone over to a party, then shoe up at their house with a bunch of Randos demanding to know where the keg is, making a mess for them to have to clean up, and demanding to be fed and entertained.
If you think that's acceptable behavior, then you've got some serious issues.
When you ask someone out on a date, you're agreeing to host.
If youbaccept a date, goure agreeing to be a guest. Being a good guest comes with its own set of obligations and responsibilities.
Men don't get asked out on dates more because in a romantic social setting, they have not learned how to be good guests. They don't see why they should, which makes many men bad dates.
