No it wasn't. Some psychologist back in the late 1800s used the Greek fable od Narcissus to give a name to a character trait.

It was not a psychological diagnosis until 1980.

Its like stubbornness or even belligerence. A patient can be described as havibg a personality trait or characteristic of being stubborn or even belligerent.

That's not the same as being diagnosed with a personality disorder of OCPD (Obsessive Compulsuve Personality Disorder), which is characterized by a pervasive need for order, perfectionism, and control, often leading to rigid and inflexible behaviors, including stubbornness in maintaining their beliefs and ways of doing things.

Not the same.
