No homeless man is going to be "one of the most loving and respectful" there is.

If he was, he wouldn't be homeless.

You don't let your loved ones fall through the cracks if you can help it.

People become homeless because they drive away those trying to help them, or they are driven away.

There's a tendency to romanticize the homeless on the left and demonize them on the right. They're neither. They're people with foibles and problems. Big ones. Deep ones. Ones that make them, even if they were willing and capable of being loving and respectful, unable to be at the moment.

That doesn't have to be permanent, though it often is long term.
