No. Didn't say they were. That said, the EU is already having problems maintaining integrity. The UK has left. Other nations are not happy. There's dissention among the neighbors.

It's not easy to keep a federation together.

The EU lasted what, about 20 years?, before losing a member? The US has lasted nearly 250 years as a federated republic of independent states.

When the EU has lasted as long, perhaps they'll have a better appreciation of the need for unifying language, rhetoric, and ideology.
