The Church protects sexual predators. Church doctrine and dogma is clearly anti-LGBTQ. Those comments were made by a man from a place of institutional power and safety and they're calling for people to rise up against the 'scourge' of homosexuals in the name of God and under their fellow human beings with the presumed authority and backing of a Church led state.
That's not normal speech. It's not dissent. It's not disagreement. It's malicious, slanderous, dangerous, and hateful. It's criminal without accountability. It's an attack against the commons to put one group over another.
It's hate speech.
