Sure he's short, overly hairy, and a little rough around the edges but you don't have to refrain from rolling your eyes every time he opens his mouth or bite back an exasperated sigh, he's so loving and tender, and he actually very clearly has a lot of genuine affection and respect for both Jean and Rogue. And in the Earth versions where he ended up with Storm, same thing.
