Maybe you don’t hear the conversations because they wouldn’t be directed at you in the first place. As a man yourself, it might be perceived as a challenge.

As a woman, I hear these conversations often, both on the firing range (when I was actively sport shooting) and off. Yes, they fall somewhere between eye roll worthy and cringe worthy, as do most male courtship displays of that type.
