Maybe, but it’s better to be wanted than to be needed.

I’ve always felt there was an element of subconscious laziness to it personally. If a woman needs you she’s less likely to leave you and you don’t have to invest as much.

If she doesn’t need you but wants you, you must continually act to ensure you’re staying desirable. No coasting.

Having a relationship secured by need let’s you put all the work of maintaining the relationship on the need partner, typically benefitting men. The down side is that they tend to settle into complacency, routine, and the wrong kind of comfort. Both end up tolerating less than they desire and just getting by.
