That means those traits and characteristics have to be calied and cherished in order to even exist. Doesnt matter if you're talking about within yourself, within a pair bond, or within your culture as a whole.

So patriarchy sets up this dynamic where it demands one gender hold and carry all the femininity for the other gender to destroy (the very thing masculinity craves) in order to define themselves as men. Crazy.
