Lol. The Urchling and I have decided to go through a 19th century who’s who of gothic/horror literature via Audible for October/Halloween this year.
I thought it would be good for her to see how morality was a common theme of the time and how much people focused on manners, etc. And, that it would be a nice break from the standard curricula. Haha! I’d forgotten about how flat and ridiculous most of the female characters are, how boring all then men are pontificating on and on all over the place about their superiority and how women were so weak and ridiculous. As you can imagine, it’s going over like a ton of bricks with my 21st century♀️Urchling. I confess, I’ve choked on my crackers or drink a couple of times myself and gotten called down at work for really LOL. When they ask, “what’s so funny?” I can only reply with my best impersonation of sincere and earnest devotion, “Thank God for strong men!” (Bram Stoker’s Dracula).
No worries about the Joopster. She loves cats. She’s always inviting them to chase her on our walks around the apt complex. She’s sick right now with a urinary tract infection, so maybe watching Cats right now is better than trying to teach those real life jellicle dumpster kitties to play tag.
