Little things I've noticed around Phoenix....

I've seen one lizard this year. One.

Lot of dead birds. They're smaller than usual.

Lot of dead roaches turned up on the sidewalks.

Very few hummingbirds. Didn't see any of the migratory charms you normally see. Did see a Great Blue Heron and a Cormorant, which is weird for here. People though the GBH was a kite or a drone. They got into an argument about it.

Pine trees, which have to be provided water are dying.

Not seeing aignifocant supply chain issues. Here and there, but I can still find most of what I want. Urchling has us buying ahead of inflation of nonperishables and sundries. She's also working on a price spreadsheet for when to give up items and downgrade.

Water is the big issue here. Yet, there's so much waste of it. We should be investing in cisterns, not filling swimming pools or watering alfalfa fields for Saudi Arabian horses. There needs to be an incentive to turn off all the city's decorate water fountains, not to be confused with the ones where people get water.

We're having a super bloom because we've had milder temps and more rain that normal. It's given people a false sense of security.
