Let's recap.

Trullia said in her comment, "I wonder if the female was middle aged, if he then wouldn't have hesitated on opening the door for her." She was musing about the guy possibly overreacting about the infamous door conundrum.

Then I snarky remarked that a middle aged woman would not be seen in the first place, much less be seen as worthy of any kind of protection.

This was not a slam on Men.

It absolutely was a slam on MAGA men, who have declared open season on women.

Out of curiosity, how many women have you saved from rape?

Because all 3 times I faced attempted rape, I had to face it alone and save myself from it. Which I did. For every non-rape sexual assault or sexual misconduct I have endured, no man even noticed much less said or did anything. There were male witnesses. Most of them didn't recognize it for what it was when it was happening. Once again, I was on my own.

That's fine.

But you'll pardon me if as a feminist and a woman I feel no comfort in the many exhirtatuons from men such as yourselves who constantly assure us that they would be our heroes in our time of need.

Seems to be more about your feeling good about yourself, as a "good man" than the reality we women live with. Smells like gaslighting. Especially when everytime we talk about the societal conditions that lead to this entitled and overly aggressive behavior from men, the tune from you boys is oh so very very different.

Sadly, I don't get to live in your fantasy version of "good men".
