Women cannot have equity here as long as they are shelling out for inequity.

Put gender price gougers on notice and fucking mean it. Follow through.

And before anybody comes at me about victim shaming or not understanding, blahblahblah....I'm a woman, a single mom, the sole Provider, and I and my daughter cut my hair.

YouTube and TikTok are marvelous. Use them. Anything you want or need to learn how to do....there's somebody making content on how to do it. Anything.

Including what proper car maintenance and repairs entail and what fair prices for such jobs are. As I recall, you live in Tucson. Pretty sure there will be auto shops with female mechanics in Tucson. Call around. Presence of a female mechanic is no guarantee you won't be price gouged, but it's arguably less likely.

You can also get on social media, find female hobby mechanics in your area and see what they say about particular shops quality and pricing.

You and the collective we have the power to change gender based price exploitation.

And for any guys reading this far, that applies to you too. Take your daughters with you when you take the car to the shop so they'll know. If you see gender based price exploitation, flag it online in a customer review and warn the women in your life so they'll know too.
