A Series on Rejection: Article 3
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these. I have two sitting in the drafts folder that have turned into very hard edits.
But I got asked out the other day and the situation is relevant to our series here as well as some broader discussions happening. Let’s dive in and take a look….
As some of you know, Jupiter (the hell hound) has been sick with a long-term condition. She had a bad case of bladder stones and has been on a special diet for over a year to dissolve the stones. It’s time for her next round of X-rays to follow up, so Jupes and I were sitting at one of the Transit Centers and waiting on the bus to take us home after the Vet visit. She’s a super cutie so she attracts some attention. After a group of kids stopped by and petted her, a man walked up.
He’s clean looking, middle aged, relatively fit, dressed in decent jeans and a pull over shirt. All in all, a nice-looking man. He has a pleasing face, and he’s smiling. Kinda looks like smiling is not something he’s not used to doing.
I’m wearing blue jean shorts and a tank, no make-up, and hair in a ponytail. Pretty much my Saturday usual. I’m covered in dog hair from her being stressed at the vet and then wallering all over me. We’re playing search and rescue with her stuffed fish. Don’t…
