I've worked in predominantly female offices. I'm in one now, and it's a care industry, although it's indirect.

I work getting Veterans community health care through the VA. So.

Ally bosses at least 4 levels up the chain are women. My team is predominantly women. One man.

I still have never seen the sort of behavior you've described.

I'm not saying it never happens. I am saying behaviors tend to follow what is culturally allowed. Culture plays a huge role in these dynamics. Huge. For some strange reason people tend to not consider that at all.

I'll also say I'm surprised because you'd think this kind of thing would be better in Canada than the US because of reputation, right? Canadians are known for being nice and Americans are known for being loud and obnoxious.

You'd think it would be far more prevalent in the US and more normalized, particularly given how it is for men.

Nope. I've never seen it. I've heard a few odd stories, where people agree it's really bizarre and almost incredulous. But I've never seen it.

Lot of blokes from the UK in a predominantly female setting office setting say similar though. I've seen that a lot too. Enough for me to believe there's something there, at least in some places, it's not just hyperbole or testerics.

I'd still be shocked to see it myself though.
