I've seen that as well. The claim of false expertise is rampant on all social media. Anybody can say anything, make any claim. I get you here.

Then, a lot of people pick up the term and use it in their own work incorrectly without the same intent of claim. In a place like Medium where you have an abundance of bloggers trying to learn to write with no editing oversight, such is to be expected. It's causing a lot of confusion and unnecessary debate over terms, like toxic masculinity.

Many times I have read an article or gotten lost amongst the comment weeds where I just want to make sure everyone has a copy of the dictionary and knows how to use it. Just go around handing them out like the Giddeons. Blessed be the scribe.
