I’ve got to admit I have a problem with this. You’re saying to develop self esteem one should give back to their community. The same community that stripped them of self esteem in the first place? How’s that supposed to work?
You say women will feel better if they take care of others. The same others that made them feel like they’re not good enough?
It sounds like you’re saying to just be nice to your abusers and maybe they’ll stop abusing you.
I’ve got some better ideas. Put some energy into caring for animals. They’ll never judge you the way people do. Their affection for you is genuine and real. There’s a lot of ways to get involved, and yes people will benefit. But do it for the animals and for you. Find one that appeals to you and get involved.
Go back to nature. You’ll feel better to connect to mother nature and the earth. Again, you’ll be welcomed and not judged or scrutinized. There’s a lot of things you can do here to build self esteem. Cleaning up an area, planting foods for wildlife, building up habitats, restoring soil, planting trees, etc.
Clean up your mental landscape. Learn to date yourself. Live your life for you and stop wasting time on other people’s nonsense ideas about worth.
