  • I’ve got nothing against Bernie or Biden per se. Neither one were my choice for the nomination. I supported Warren first and Harris second with Booker as a third or choice for VP. Also, I’m not a Democrat, I’m an Independent so I have no perceived obligation to ‘vote blue no matter who’. I could just as easily vote red, libertarian, or green. Last election I voted for Stein because I couldn’t stomach either the Republican or Democratic nomination even though she was vastly under qualified and didn’t stand a chance of winning.
  • You’re right. I have no proof and there is unlikely to be any. Don’t have proof of Trump’s alleged assaults either. Or Kavenaugh’s assault on Ford. I notice you didn’t jump to defend them. So it’s not like you’re looking for fairness yourself here.
  • What I do have is contemporaneous corroboration, the hiding of documents that could prove or exonerate, a pattern of inappropriate behavior, and his egregious treatment of Anita Hill.
  • It’s not like there’s not plenty of smoke. OF HIS OWN MAKING. He didn’t get that moniker from his manner of shaking hands. And he didn’t get it from Trump, who calls him Sleepy Joe. ‘Handsy’ isn’t even a term particularly used by men. It’s made by subordinate women in an office who are warning newcomers to keep an eye out for where the boss is and be ready to dodge contact.
  • As I write this, he’s on the news denying the allegation. So did Clinton. In Clinton’s case his misconduct was consensual. It was still misconduct. Amazing, the similarity of the language being employed. Because he says it didn’t happen, it didn’t happen. Period. End of story.
  • So. Ultimately people will make up their own damn minds. I would add as a last thought that whoever holds the office will face the cleanup of Trump’s disastrous administration with a highly polarized, combative Congress. There’s a real chance that the dead will still be piling up from Coronavirus at the start of the next office. Either way.
  • The rule of law must be shored up. Our institutions must be rebuilt. And government as a whole has lost a lot of trust with the American people. Do you really want to throw more flammables on that fire? Don’t you want someone there you can have absolute faith in? Do either of these men inspire that kind of faith?
  • We’re in trouble folks. Beyond the issue of sexual impropriety. And neither party is capable of providing a true leader. A leader we need at this moment. Where do you think we’ll be in the next decade without it?
