It's tied to the concept of self defense. It's not about the hate being deserved or justified. It's about it being a response, that it doesn't happen in a vacuum, that reason and source of hate are important.

You're advocating what in essence is a zero tolerance policy. That's bullshit. They don't work.

A teacher comes up on two kids fighting on a playground. You punish them both the same and hold them to the same standard and responsibility for causing the fight. But in reality, the bigger kid has been bullying the smaller kid for weeks. He/she has stolen their lunch money, destroyed their things, take credit for classwork they did as their own, shoved them down in the mud, spread lies about them to cause problems with their friends or.get them in trouble, etc. The smaller kid has finally responded by punching back.

All zero tolerance does, is provide cover for those amongst us who abuse others. It's a failure.

It's not the same. It matters that one kid was the aggressor for a very long period of time before the second kid punches back.

It matters that the second kid punched in direct response to sustained attacks on their person but the first kid attacked from a place of priviledge, belief in superiority, and entitlement.

Don't pretend it's the same. Don't pretend it doesn't matter. It matters.

Again, there's a situation blowing up on TikTok that's hot right now that demonstrates in real time exactly what I'm talking about when we apply this to misogyny vs misandry.
By your value system, there's no difference and the hate this young man is getting is no different, less than even, the hate he's dishing because it's his "honest sincere opinion" and of course, after his clip was mass reported for violating community guidelines, it was taken down. Then it got restored by the institutional authority because upon review, they failed to see how his clip incited violence.

That left "hate" or misandrist man bashing has the only option available to respond to this threat.

His honest sincere opinion? That all single women over the age of 18 should be drafted into a "corp" to tackle the problem of domestic terrorism by being forced to service Incels for ten minutes every year by a lottery system. "These men have to take a bullet, you women can take that for 10 minutes."

And I know what you're going to say. It's just one person's opinion. Of particular note is the amplification and agreement from so many other men.

They're not the same. Show me the misandrist who is advocating sexual slavery for men in recompense for something that doesn't exist. Who's being sent to take a a bullet? The draft hasn't been inacted in over half a century. Women are eligible for the next one by law now, even if they're not required to sign up for selective service yet. Military service is voluntary in this country.

This is not the first time, it's not the only one going on right now. It's just one I'm aware of going on right now.
