It's surprising how many people really don't enjoy dating. .akes you wonder why we do it in the first place. Even with my ex-husband, dating was always a chore at best and often disappointing. Our best times were just hanging out. But we were college students then.

When most of the coffee dates was going on, I had divorced and moved and didn't really know anyone. A set of them was after my daughter was born and didn't have much time or much going on outside mom/parenting groups and stuff.

Yeah, most people aren't wired for sustained isolation. I've gotten back into some interest based social groups again now, but either it's harder or people really just can't socialize that well anymore.
