It's really not, though I agree you rarely see it on Medium. That's been a mercy up till now, apparently.

You used to see loads of this type of problematic claptrap all over rubbishy women's magazines. It was horrible for relationships and actually increased the antagonistic nature of gender relations. It was a huge part of "the gender wars" of that era.

Men Are feom Mars, Women are from Venus has been widely debunked. It is every bit as useful and true as The Secret is. The fallout is just as painful.

Don't get me wrong though. All relationships are dependent upon being able to communicate with each other so communication IS extremely important. Very important. It's like food, water, or shelter for relationships. Top tier need.

I'm just saying that these particular dos and donts widely miss the mark are based in fantasy thinking and disproven myths about manhood. I grew up in this magazine era. Following this advice led to a lot of dead bedrooms and miserable couples.
