It's not that the rules are different. It's that the wants and desires are different.
Look at it this way. Let's say there's a tree with fruit on it. If you want the fruit, you have to get the fruit. You have to go to the tree and somehow get the fruit.
It's not on the tree to come to you and to offer it's fruit to you.
That said, there's no doubt that the existence of the fruit altogether is an invitation to xome get the fruit. That's how the tree reproduces itself. Also true that at some point, the tree will drop all its fruit because it becomes disadvantageous to continue holding on to it.
At some point, the desire level and advantage shifts.
Ergo.....if men want women to approach them, they need to content and dedicate themselves to being patient enough for the desire and advantage to shift. In other words, if men want to be approached, they have to be willing to folow the rules and dynamics that have traditionally been for women. They have to take theie place as the pursued, which means you don't get to dictate by whom and how you are approached. All you get to do is politely decline and hope it doesn't escalate into something nefarious. And be attractive.
So, the rules haven't changed. Your player position has.
But I don't see them doing that because they use acquiring sex as a status play in competition with other males.
Until that changes, the advantage or desire to approach will not shift to favor men being approached by women.
[Edit] There's one exception I know about in the plant analogy. Saguaro will throw their fruit at you. Something about the time of day and your shadow crossing it and the fruit being suitably ripe and it will jettison its fruit at you. It's a little disconcerting till you get used to it. I've had Saguaro fruit heads thrown at me 5 times now. First time it happened, I was walking Urchling to school and it scared her half to death.
