It's not just blind optimism.

From what we know of more egalitarian societies before patriarchy took over, they were stable. Obviously, that wasn't the whole of it, but they were stable with little ebbs and flows between individuals and genders for tens of thousands of years in much harsher conditions than we have today. They were radically more peaceful too.

We should all want to make our societies as egalitarian as possible again so we survive the collapse that's coming.

What we have, they way we're doing things, isn't sustainable. I'm shocked its lasted the 5000 years or so it has. It's unnatural.
