He's responding to the therapist that it's just the worst message in the world about what relstionships are. But we don't know what he means by that. That real love cannot be so constrained and controlled? That relationships aren't meant to be concerning ourselves with the other person? Or women are supposed to be in for you? There's no telling.

I didn't see the dicunentsry so I've no idea if there was a follow up on that. It's such a weird thing to say, there should have been.
