It’s my understanding that she didn’t drive him there armed. She believed he was going as a medic. He got the gun once they crossed state lines from a friend he met up with who had purchased it for him with monies from Rittenhouse.

Don’t get me wrong. He still had no business being there and that was a bad parenting move. It just doesn’t help to heap unwarranted blame on the mother because it shields the son from responsibility and culpability. And where was his father? Isn’t he the parent most likely to have gotten Kyle into this culture and supported it through the years? Who bought the (then) boy his first rifle? There’s a picture of him around 9 years old holding an assault rifle, grinning. Why is it only his mother coming under scrutiny here? Why aren’t we questioning his father perpetuating and passing on male violence?
