Men can only control you if you go into having children expecting the man to be invested in caretaking. The nuclear family was and still is a disaster. It's unnatural. Typically, men will do literally anything to get out of caretaking. Knowing that, putting that level of trust on them as women is just insane. Gentlemanly speaking, in this culture, he's gonna bail and you can't depend on him.
