It’s good that Congress has not allowed themselves to be deterred from the people’s business. Sadly though, I think we need to consider that today was a dress rehearsal for the 20th where the objective will be attempted assassinations of incumbents.

Getting back to business is no longer enough. It’s troubling on a whole other level that Pence is the one who called out the National Guard. It’s time for Trump to leave office. Impeachment isn’t really an option at this point, but the 25th amendment is. He will not resign no matter what pressure is brought to bear.

McConnell needs to suck it up and do what needs doing. Acting now would slightly redeem him from his part in this. Slightly.
