It’s because I’m such an asshole.

Shortly after I signed up for Medium I set myself the task to get every troll who tried to piss all over my comments to block me.

I did this in order to find a strategy to effectively deal with these fuckers that wasn’t passive, a waste of one’s own time, or functionally useless; and because social media platforms aren’t keeping their sandboxes clean.

They’re not dealing with a problem created by their own poor design so if we want to use their product we have to get better at dealing with the bullies.

And I have learned some things, strategically speaking.

I’m not getting blocked as much by the people I want blocking me though. The trolls get knocked on their ass and then leave me alone but they don’t usually block. I’m actually getting blocked more by women who seem to just not want to see the throw down. Yet they rubberneck it every time. I mean, you can certainly tell two or three comments in how things are gonna go. Why go all the way through the bitter end of the thread only to then tell everyone off for acting like children, or whatever, and then block all involved. Just back out and go on about your life and leave people to their rumble if it bothers you so much, yeah?

And the answer here is that this is very much mom behavior. They can’t switch gears between what goes on between their children and what goes on on the internet. They feel compelled into that role every time there’s a disagreement.

And so I get blocked. A lot.

But you’ve got me beat easy because you take more of the "I’m not touching you" avenue of provocation. Often brilliantly done btw, I’ve got to write a series for Gareth who wants to know why women reject men without an explanation which he feels he is owed so that he can adapt to be more acceptable to the ladies before he ends his existence as Father Time brings in the new year. But after that, I should slot in a childhood story about your favorite method of aggravation, worms, and midnight screams. I think you’d get a real kick out of it.

Now that I’m more or less done with my experiment/training I want to get back to more writing on the platform.
