It’s absolutely untrue. And it’s not about my inconvenience. It’s about truth.
You’ve adopted a particular narrative about evolution as truth. The problem is, it doesn’t hold up historically. You believe what has become the norm now, in our time, has always been true. But you’re wrong. In our time frame, both men and women have been inundated with sexualized marketing propaganda our whole lives. Sex is everywhere and it’s warped our thinking. Women have never been as obsessed with their own bodies and beauty as they are now. Men have never been as out of control of themselves outside of war as they are today.
You go back prior to industrialization and it was not uncommon for men to lose their virginity around the age of 30. Sex rarely occurred for the average man outside marriage and it took them that long to be able to provide a living for a woman.
I’ll give you an example you’re likely familiar with. Laura Ingalls Wilder who wrote the Little House series about her life as a pioneer married Almonzo Wilder. She was 18. He was 28. They were each other’s only lover. And that was normal for the time.
Almonzo met Laura when she was 13 and he was 23 and was interested in her immediately. He courted 2 or 3 other women. When it didn’t work out, he took no for an answer and didn’t harass them. He waited for Laura to grow up. They courted for two years before they got married. They didn’t hold hands till they’d been courting a year. Their first kiss was when he proposed and she accepted. It was a promise.
All of that was completely normal for the time. Clearly the man was capable of exhibiting grand amounts of self control because she had no idea he was interested in her till she got her first job at 16. He was putting his energies into building a life for them, even that early on.
Real evolution takes thousands of years. It must be consistent across a population or a species, provided there isn’t an isolation also in effect. That’s how you get speciation. But that doesn’t apply to humans.
If you look at other cultures today, you find men who can control themselves. If you look to our recent past, you find men who can control themselves. If you look at our cultural present, you find men who can control themselves.
Clearly, this notion that men can’t control themselves is absolute bunk. They can. Some of them choose not to because it’s not culturally required.
So the real question here is why is it so convenient to YOU that men be infantalized and prevented from growing up fully? Why do you feel the need to ensure that men become abusive? Why do you want to ruin their lives and hurt them as well as hurting women?
