It needs to be addressed. It doesn't need to be conflated or escalated to more than what it is.
False or exaggerated accusations are a misdemeanor. Max 6 months in jail. That's why he's suing her instead. I'm not sure those charges could apply here though.
He says he never physically assaulted her. But he did abuse her. He had drug fueled blackouts. He doesn't remember how he lost his fingertip. He was never charged criminally for domestic abuse. He was never arrested. Didn't spend one night in jail. Maybe he just doesn't remember doing it. Regardless, It's clear that he did abuse her non-physically. He has also already lost one libel suit. So, apparently there was enough there to back up the Sun story in a court.
It's troubling that just because it's coming to light that she also abused him that makes Depp completely innocent in people's minds and her an evil villain destroying a good man.
Good men don't fantasize or talk about burning someone to death and fucking their corpse. You realize that is a death threat, right? And verbal abuse, right? It's meant to terrorize, whether or was texted to Paul Bettany or directly Amber Heard, things get around in circles. He had to know she would see it sooner or later. Good men don't do that shit.
So he's not an innocent little lamb here.
We've got no idea and never will if he physically abused her on top of the other types of abuse. There's no definitive proof one way or the other. There is reason to believe he likely did.
*Violent texts
*Presence of other abuse
*Presence of drugs and alcohol
*Record of police response to a DV call
*Loss of a precious suit.
There is reason to believe he didn't.
*No history from previous lovers
*That DV call didn't end in an arrest.
I'd like to note as well that Amber Heard has never been charged. She didn't get arrested that night either. She is being tried by the public based solely on the word of Johnny Depp. There is no more significant evidence against her than there is against him.
Which basically means she's no innocent little lamb here either.
The public hypocrisy here is astounding and maddening. It doesn't have to be an either/or.
