It makes my skin crawl to hear people say he was the greatest president. He wasn’t. But, he has his own cult-like following. People look at you like you’re nuts in conservative America if you speak against Reagan.

Carter was better. Most of the things he did domestically was better for America long term. Reagan undid a lot of that in the same way Trump has undone much of Obama’s work before it could come to fruition. It’s a damn shame; how much better off would we be now had we stayed away from the abject nonsense of “trickle down” economics? Had we stayed on an earlier path toward sustainability? Had we embraced energy conservation instead of making devil’s bargains for oil?
