It has, with caution. I think more women want it than like what they get in practicality. Traditionally, a big part of being a housewife was utizing soft skills to elevate your husband's career. If he thrives, you all thrive. Plus, your community work, which was free labor, gave the family higher standing in the community. All the things, you know?
What women are finding is that many men who want to be house husbands aren't really interested in being good ones across the board. Or they just don't get it. They're also not doing that well with being 2nd fiddle because of societal pressures. Even if they're happier overall, they still fall into passive aggressive bullshit behavior because of competitive comparisons with their spouse.
