It gets down to whether or not men will find another way to define themselves and define their manhood.
As women, we have a conceptually duality to the feminine archetype. In describing of our life path, we can choose Eve or we can choose Lillith. The feminine is also represented as variations of a triad across many cultures: the maid, the mother, the crone.
Men don't have that. That's why they're lost. If they can't be "men" as a manifestation of violence (warrior or hero) then what do they have? Who are they? No one knows.
Men would not be struggling right now if they had a choice between Adam and NotAdam, if their reproductive life cycles were honored and venerated as boy, father, and geezer in the same manner that women's have been throughout time.
Men need an option to be NotAdam. If they cannot or will not embrace that, we continue down that slippery slope to it's inevitable end.
Again.
Women will be disenfranchised from the economy and put back under the boot of men again. Those who resist will be murdered. The apparatus is being built as we speak.
I think we need to be more clear that pushing back against Influencers, monied interests, and political and religious figures who are promoting this mosogynistic ideology of oppression is not the same as bashing men. But men need to be better versed in what's going on and more mindful in the language they use when they choose to weigh in. Talk like an authoritarian douche bag in the current climate, you don't get to whine about your butt guety feelings that you weren't given the benefit of the doubt. Women are dying already from authoritarian bullshit. The murder rates of Trans women are rising as well, directly alongside far right anti Trans rhetoric. The media is not reporting the deaths.
Men's feelings can take a back seat for a while. Men can either step up and help hold the line against authoritarianism or get the fuck out of the way.
