It already is. How can we say it’s not when, from the Right, the response to criticisms of Evangelicals is “You’re being mean to God/Jesus! You’re going to burn in hell!” and people posting content purposefully meant to inflame and goad get dressed down or debunked respond with, “You’re just a bitter woman who hates men. Have fun with your cats!” or “you people are just trying to make white people feel bad for being white" or “that’s colorism/racism. I have Indian ancestry. Don’t talk to me about heritage.”

Faux outrage hits the intolerant equally on both sides. I tend to think the Right have been at it a whole lot longer than the Left, at least on this side of the pond, so they tend to draw my ire more. That said, the Left might be better at it soon enough. Not exactly the sort of metric one should value themselves by or be particularly proud of. If only they knew.
