Is it? In a way they mean the same thing, and in that sense you're right. An analogy is a simplified way of saying something.

But I choosing the word reductive because of the focus on the diminishing and curtailing aspect of the word. You can simplify without diminishing or curtailing a thing.

I just don't like to see men diminishing themselves with their thinking patterns any more than I like to see that from women. We all deserve better.

I find it reductive rather than simplified because its not asking the right questions, and suggesting that doing so is too difficult and complicated for men to handle, so they're just going to settle in where they are even though the refrain of how doing so is killing them is very loud.

Isn't that where the irony lay? Am I missing something?
