Inxe, things stsrr to collapse, an isolated self sufficient might make it with some radically altered technology. By that I mean they have a source of energy but are thinking about energy differently. They're not trying to grow. Most of the work they do, is artesan. They don't use tech for convenience or to make tat.

The problem will be that even as such commumitire will spring up and exist, if the drawdown outside of them is chaotic, which will most likely be the case, there's not many places they could locate that will be far enough away from things like nuclear plants or ICBM storage, or chemical waste dumps, or even factories with hazardous materials that they would.be safe from an eventual poisoning of some sort. If all those things aren't secured during draw down. They likely won't be.
