Infant boys do not die from circumcision, they don't remember being held down in a back alley or back room, and the procedure doesn't prevent them from enjoying sex. Their urethra opening isn't sewn up to the size of a pinprick, exposing them to risk of infection and painful urination for the rest of their lives.

The reason people get upset is because the two procedures are truly not equivalent just because the share the same name.
