Men AND women need to invest in the kind of confidence that allows them to stand up the constant messaging of how to human, respectively, that's just part of being a social species. All social species do the same thing. It's more pronounced and obvious in social mammal species.

I got screamed at once for not waiting for a man to come and open a door for me, even though he was a good 300 feet away, he had no business in the building I was going into, and I'm perfectly capable and fit enough to open my own door. I wasn't even polished up, where a potentially dirty door or something was the reason behind the histrionics. I pretty much told him the same thing.
