I'm not sure that's going to transport well Penguin. You don't really need myths and folklore about old green hags to frighten children away from dangerous water when real, large, toothy lizards will snatch you away in the blink of an eye.

Some toddler got snatched by a gator at Disney World either this past summer or the on before. I can't remember exactly. It was a bit of an uproar because the parents didn't want to be bothered with all the warning signs.

I'm thinking that pond had duck weed too, but not a full covering.
