The vast majority of Jews identify as white. It's only come into question because some see that giving up "whiteness" is the way to fight against racism.
Stern identifies as white. He's never claimed, so far as I've ever heard, to not be white.
An argument over semantics of skin tone doesn't negate the entitled behavior of privileged people Stern has and continues to exhibit. Nor does it makes his comments about Winfrey not racist even if you bought into the argument. Plenty of non white people are racist too. It's no cover or protection from developing or leaning into your own biases based on skin tone, gender, or sexual orientation.
