I’m not going to attack you for supposed reverse racism as some of the other commenters have. I’m going to take your article with the spirit of which it was written rather than getting hung up on semantics of language.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your essay. You were quite poignant in your writing about that juxtaposition of the violence done to you by racism and the internalization of racism towards the self.
You cannot do much about how individual (white) people think of you or how they’re absorbing/manifesting the ideology of supremacy. You can work on not letting it stick to you. Work on loving and accepting yourself. You are enough and worthy as you are. With a stronger, more robust sense of self, you won’t need anyone’s validation.
