I'm not blaming men for those instances. But most bad interactions with bears are not those things.
I'm blaming men for the stuff like the drunk guy who tried to smack that bear when I was little, of which the majority of bear attacks will fall under that category. People not knowing how to behave around bears and wils animals in general but thi king they're experts because they watched a documentary.
And believe me, in Parks and on trails there are A LOT of people for whom that applies. Especially men.
Be mad about it all you want. Most National Parks have warning signs up specifically to address these people's need to act foolish. Like that woman who recently got gored by a buffalo. She was being an absolute nitwit. It wasn't the buffalo fault for being provoked into defending itself.
It was hers.
It's not about hating on men. It's just that this foolish behavior around wild animals is seen more in men than women. It had to do with that drive toward risk taking behavior.
And give me a fucking break. Men can't on the one hand brag endlessly about being natural risk takers and rub in women's noses that thisnis one of .any reasons why they're much better than us but then balk and cry foul when that risk taking leads to a bad outcome and a woman places the blame where it goes rather than agree with the falsehood that bears are vicious predators just to protect their fragile male egos. It's jot and never will he the bears fault when a man chooses to act like a fool.
