Young people are facing death though, you are wrong about that. There’s a double existential threat because nuclear war never left the table. Add to that climate change.
Young people are dying from a drug pandemic foisted on the population by corporate psychopathology, poverty and gun violence. The suicide rate is the highest it’s ever been for that age cohort. Many live under the constant threat of prison and/or police violence.
With Trump in office, there has been a looming dread of being sent to war. There has been a significant uptick in anxiety among young people since the attack on Suleiman and the poking at China for a new cold war.
Young people are more savvy today than the youth of your generation. Telling them to duck and cover with a cute cartoon isn’t going to cut it or alleviate very real anxiety.
Perhaps instead of offering a reading list, you should pull your nose out of the books and look around a bit. If you’re half as smart as you think you are, you should be able to make some appropriate observations and draw some obvious conclusions.
