As for the "social expectations", I'll remind you that's coming mostly from other men. Women have been asking men to "get in touch with their feminine side" since what? The late 80s. Early 90s?

We women have been taking a hard look at "success" and trying to tease some nuance and more defined meaning/parameters for decades as well.

We've mostly been sneered and jeered at by men on these fronts.

Men do not listen to women. It is a point of pride for many men.

So why should women continue to throw effort after foolishness? What could possibly be gained?
