I'm against a complete gun ban. Most liberals aren't. Many of them own guns.

On the whole, liberals want sensible.gun legislation. It's true that you can't legislate morality. I made just that argument about abortion the up and coming abortion bans the other day. Sounds like your NY example was breach or failure of enforcement.

Sensible gun legislation and regular, consistent enforcement won't end mass shooting events entirely. And you're right, we've for to address some of the systemic issues. But it will reduce them. Being murdered by gun violence shouldn't be the leading cause of death for children.

As far as your comment saying liberals demonize conservatives or however you worded it. I'm just going to say it. I've got a problem with lawmakers posing for photography and pushing memes they created showing them pointing assault weapons at their fellow legislators. If you don't also have a major problem with that I'm going to suggest to you that you may not be able to recognize evil when you see it. It's not always the big display of megalomania with a side of smoker's crackle. More often than not, it's a subtle creep, a dog whistle, a "joke", a meme. Open you eyes. Open up your mind. Don't act like this shit isn't exactly what it is.
